Late afternoon, ending near sunset, gives soft, flattering light. Midday sun is harsh and causes squinting.

When to Get Senior Pictures Done in Phoenix, DFW and OKC

  • Phoenix: sessions run close to sunset in summer; fall through spring is most comfortable. The Hole-in-the-Rock trailhead side closes at 7 p.m. → Phoenix

  • Dallas–Fort Worth: spring and fall are favorites; the Fort Worth Botanic Garden sells its last photo pass two hours before closing, so garden sessions are late afternoon. → DFW

  • Oklahoma City: fall color and spring green; keep a backup date for wind or storms. The hour or two before sunset gives the softest light. Myriad Gardens’ grounds stay open until 11 p.m. → OKC
